Accreditation and Recognition

Equilibrium Pilates is currently growing beyond its South African borders where it originated. Our goal to utilize our current stringent standards to enhance international markets with our Pilates programs. Equilibrium Pilates has applied for accreditation with the relevant National Education and Training Authority (THETA) in South Africa. To comply with one of the most rigorous education standards in the world, our training is designed around outcomes based learning and is built for success.Our course facilitators are leaders and innovators in the industry. They are all experienced professionals, with an array of academic, sport, fitness and dance backgrounds.

Our diversity delivers strength in our instructional team. The facilitators will guide you through the Theoretical, Practical, and Apprenticeship portions of our programs, offering individual support as needed.

Your success is our success. As a commitment to our learners, Equilibrium Pilates strives to offer up to date resources and training materials in a variety of formats. Newly revised course materials and access to our comprehensive resource library of current research and related literature will support your training. Upon completion of your certification, we offer a professional membership network. There you will find ongoing training support, continuing education, professional resources, and much more. Pre Requisites for Equilibrium Courses

Students are required to have a recognized certificate, diploma or degree in basic health and/or fitness studies. If you do not have, please ask us for information on how to register for an approved correspondence course in Exercise Science that will qualify you to register with us. Course Materials

All Equilibrium Pilates courses units include:
Detailed manuals with exercise descriptions and images
Mechanical analyses of the exercises
Modifications, assists and simplifications of each exercise


Course Format

Each Equilibrium Pilates course has five primary components (the 4 areas of course presentation and assessment) designed to combine practical experience with theoretical knowledge and hands-on-training for a complete circle of learning. Most courses are 1-2 weeks long with daily sessions for 2-3 hours to allow time for students to participate in practice hours during the course for enhanced learning. Custom schedules are available upon approval with your Instructor Trainer; our course format allows a flexible learning environment.


Course Presentation

Observation: watch qualified trainers at work.
Practice Exercise: master the exercises with repetition.
Practice Teaching: apply your newly acquired teaching skills.
Apprenticeship/Internship: begin your new career path under supervision.


Assessment

Each course unit is completed with an assessment, which includes a one-hour theory exam and a one hour practical exam. Exams are scheduled at the student’s request or at select times in other regions.
